Rentora ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Rentora platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information.
By accessing Rentora, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all provisions of this Privacy Policy.
2 Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
When you register, list a tool, or book a rental, we collect:
- Account Information: Full name, email, phone number, and password (hashed with bcrypt)
- Location Data: City, region, and coordinates for tool location mapping
- Payment Information: Processed by Lahza (our payment processor) — we do NOT store card details
- Profile Information: Profile picture, bio, verification status, and rating
- Tool & Booking Data: Listings, photos, rental dates, messages, and reviews
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and search queries
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device model
- Session Cookies: For authentication and keeping you logged in
3 How We Use Your Information
- Processing bookings and payments
- Sending confirmation emails and updates
- Verifying user identity and preventing fraud
- Displaying your profile and tool listings publicly
- Moderating disputes and suspending abusive accounts
- Improving Platform features through analytics
5 Data Retention
- Active accounts: Until account deletion
- Deleted accounts: Anonymized after 7 years (tax/compliance)
- Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement)
- Server logs: 30 days, then automatically deleted
6 Your Privacy Rights
Access & Correct
Email privacy@rentora.ps to request a copy of your data — we respond within 30 days. You can update your profile, email, and phone directly in account settings.
Delete Your Account
Go to Settings → Delete Account. Your profile and tools are immediately hidden and messages deleted. Booking and payment records are anonymized after 7 years.
Opt Out of Marketing
Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email, or manage preferences in account settings.
7 Security & Cookies
We protect your data with:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- bcrypt password hashing (salted, one-way)
- A secure database with strict access controls
Rentora uses session cookies only to keep you logged in. We do NOT use third-party tracking cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.). No system is 100% secure — always use a strong password and never share your credentials.
Rentora is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
